Pre-Summer To Do List

01:15 Unknown 1 Comments

Hey guys!
So summer is fast approaching and half of us cannot cope with that. Simple.
Today I'm going to talk about my top tips for summer preparation, I have to do this fast as I am due to finish my course at college next week and that will leave me with a 5 month long summer before heading to university in September!

1) The Battle of The Tan.
I am very pale, and don't go abroad often (last time was in 2010) so also being British I lose this battle every year, if you are in the same boat I strongly encourage you to invest in a gradual tanning moisturiser, no sunbeds guys think of your skin! I prefer gradual tanning as it appears more natural rather than slapping on some fake bake and going from pasty to three weeks in Tenerife over a 12 hour span...

2) The Wardrobe
Summer wardrobe is a pain , last years clothes are all out of fashion and last months clothes are going to slowly boil you to death. There are two ways I tend to go about this, the first is to bag up anything you aren't going to be wearing anytime soon and get it up on eBay, chances are you have a lot of items that can be repurchased next season. So sell it and use that money to buy this years trend!
The other way is to recycle, grab last summers clothes and add some rips, acid wash, dye it, crop it, basically do some DIY to make the old look new, or in our vintage/retro world, make it look older!

3) Get a Job
Summer is long, festivals are expensive. If you haven't already, get a job for summer, there's always plenty to go around in shops and leisure parks! If its festivals you want there are many agencies that will let you work one or two shifts on site in exchange for a weekend ticket and usually the shift times will not overlap with headlining acts!

4) Plan in Advance
There's nothing worse than trying to arrange a last minute gathering with friends only to find out that they're all on holiday or visiting family hours from where you need them, in order to have a successfully social summer it is key to discuss with friends who is going to be away when and if possible arrange your meeting way in advance

5) Drink Water
We all want to party the nights away but don't forget it will be hot and dehydration is not beneficial to going at it all day and night, always have a water bottle handy to keep your body happy and smiley even on those crazy nights!

6) Get That Bikini Body
While I believe that everyone is beautiful there is nothing like summer to get you fitness motivated, and toning up is never a bad thing. Try something new and active this year, I've recently tried Zumba and had a great time! Other summer sports to try are volleyball, swimming, brisk walking.. Or even just the gym (think of the lovely air conditioning ) there are also loads of active things to do in the home or garden the possibilities are endless!

7) Try to Squeeze in a Holiday
We all lead busy lives but a holiday can work miracles on the mind and body, whether it's a quiet weekend at the seaside or a steamy stay in Tunisia if you have time for a break seize it! Don't forget to arrange early though as booking prices and availability will rocket fast!

So that is my advice! I hope you found it helpful and if you have any tips for me you are welcome to share them in the comments or via twitter @lucycles !

Stay stylish!
Lots of Love

Oz Naturals Skincare

13:11 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys!
This time we are doing a full product review on the Oz Naturals Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum... Now I know what you're all thinking-" why does a 19 year old need anti-aging products? " I don't, but I heard that many of the ingredients in this product were said to be divine for all skin types and conditions so when I was approached about reviewing it I couldn't say no!
If you are reading this to discover whether it will give you your youth back then I cannot tell you, what I can tell you is what effects it had on my skin and whether or not I would recommend it to other young-uns like myself.

Let's start with the box, is simple yet professional and inside you find the serum in all its glass dropper bottle glory, a classic and simple metheod that does not displease.
The little piece of info paper that comes with the serum tells us that it should be applied after the washing of the face and can be applied under makeup, it also recommends that you moisturise after applying. Unlike some stronger serums it is also safe to use this product daily rather than a weekly treatment.
On application #1 I understood why using a moisturiser was advised as at first I noticed my skin feeling dry, I have naturally dry skin but as I had just wanted my face I was surprised at how quickly it returned to feeling this way. I decided not to use moisturiser and simply apply my makeup so that I didn't confuse the effects of my moisturiser with the effects of the serum. I must say that I was surprised as now at the end of the day my skin feels soft and possibly slightly firmer than usual! I know these are rather important factors for anti aging products but I thought it took several days and even weeks to get results (for me its been 12 hours that's gotta be a good sign)

In the few days that I have now been using this product I am very pleased with the effects it has on my skin, it feels healthier and smoother than it would usually be after my daily routine,it is safe to say that this is definitely going to be a great addition to my routine, especially with such fast results!

You can purchase this product HERE or type http://www.amazon.com/OZ-Naturals-Hyaluronic-Neutralizing-Radicals/dp/B00DPE9EQO    into your browser!

I hope this post has been interesting for you guys!

13:37 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey everyone!
I hope you are all having a great Easter weekend eating chocolate and playing cheesy family games! Since spring is well on top of us now I thought now would be a great time to share my SS15 beauty essentials and must haves, everything in this post can be purchased from zestbeauty.com who currently have a sale on so if you like the look of anything you see, now is the time to snap it up!

I have chosen the Decleor Hydra-Radiance Smoothing and Cleansing mousse as my cleanser as it uses gentle ingredients in a 3-in-1 action to leave soft glowing skin even if you don't have time for a full cleanse, tone and moisturize.
http://www.zestbeauty.com/decleor-hydra-radiance-smoothing-and-cleansing-mousse.html

I picked an amazing liquid mineral foundation by high end brand- Jane Iredale. This product is delicate on the skin while producing a long lasting, high cover dewy look, leaving your skin radiant even after removing!

To tame those pesky locks a Tangle Teezer should be on everyones list! I have never come across any product that so successfully and painlessly tames my overdyed, dry, matte-prone mess I call my hair.

Another handy hint would be to use a hair serum to hold that healthy shine all day long! I picked this Joico product as it contains macadamia oil which we all know works miracles on all hair types!

Last but not least as it begins to get warmer we all want to be the first of our friends to catch a bit of sun without it looking like youve obviously cheated, am I right? which is why I've selected this briliant product by Xen-Tan which lets you control how light or dark the formula will be and therefore achieve the perfect gradual tan since you can decide how fast to graduate from sun-kissed to tropicana!

What I got for my Birthday!

12:34 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys!
As some of you may or may not know it was my birthday on Monday so I thought I would take a few moments out to show you guys what I got and what kind of a day I had in case anybody was interested, so without further ado let us begin!

First up was the shopping trip I went on with my Grandma a few days earlier where she gave me some cash and instructed me to spend it on whatever I liked in town, woohoo
I will try and link as many photos to the places you can buy them too.

First on the list was some new accessories for the Spring/Summer season! So I headed straight to New Look where I picked up two pairs of gorgeous sunglasses and a beautiful golden elephant choker! I also picked up a lovely new purse by a brand called Sally Young, it is roomy and has a large zipped section to stop all of that pesky change from spilling everywhere ( a major issue in my last purse ).

Next up was a walk around Boots, which happened to have 3 for 2 on all makeup- YES! This was very exiting as for a start, most of my makeup was wearing thin and secondly, as a training make up artist anything related to makeup exites me!
I wanted to start using a primer as I don't have great skin so anything that claims to blur out imperfections is a win on my list, I decided on trying the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser and I am very pleased with it, though it does feel slightly oily when you first apply it. I also bought Maybellines new Dream Flawless Foundation as it is a fluid foundation as is therefore less heavy on my skin, It does require a few touch ups throughout the day but powder helps it last. This is a consequence I am happy to take as the thicker "long wear" foundations often leave my skin feeling very dry and tired.
I purchased a prescise eyeliner pen by Barry M which has brilliant staying power and also dries fast so theres no need to worry about that awkward transfer on the first blink after application!

Next I headed to the Natural Collection section of the store as I think they are a really good brand and they are SO cheap, almost everything is £1.99 and it is not of low quality at all, they simply use good quality, natural ingredients in all their products and offer basic packaging which I'm sure with other brands you pay a price for the fancy bottles! I bought a lip liner in Ruby Rose, a Lash Define mascara in Black and a Moisture Shine lipstick in Crimson!

Finally, Clothes! I bought a fluffy short sleeved jumper in New Look and a lovely velvet dress from Ark which fortunately looks far better on person than hanger!

Onto my actual birthday! I was woken to this MEGA BREAKFAST as I'm going to call is, it was totally delicious , and if anybody thinks I'm like, 12, for drinking Smirnoff Ice- I don't care, it tastes great.
Then I got up and headed into town with my dad to get my main present, my first tattoo! Well.. The outline anyway I plan to get it coloured at a later date! It is a Jewelled Moth and I've decided to name her Penelope for some reason! Personally, it didn't hurt as much as everyone led me to believe it would, and even though it is incomplete I already love it!!

It is safe to say I have been well and truely spoilt this year by my amazing friends and family, I got some merchandise from my favourite Disney movie Bambi from my friend along with some crazy soap ( it's great fun try it! )  I got a Pokemon game for my DS because I unfortunately skipped that part of my childhood, my best friend has spoiled me with the promise of taking me to the Harry Potter Studios as well as other gifts.I got money from family members but honestly do not know how to spend it because everybody has been so wonderful and generous towards me.

I hope everybody has a wonderful day!
Lots of Love
